From M1 (Northbound) - Leave the M1 at Junction 33 and head into Sheffield. From Sheffield, initially take A61N and then A57 (Glossop). The last buildings as you leave Sheffield on the A57 is the Valleyside Garden Centre About ¾ mile later, take the first right (Rails Road). Go straight across at the crossroads and continue up Rails Road until you enter Stannington. After the Stannington sign, take the third left, passing Stannington Church on your right. After the church take the second left, passing The Rose & Crown pub on your right. At the T-junction, turn left out into the countryside. You will pass Underbank Chapel on your right, and further on Dyson Refactories on your left. Carry on up the hill and down the other side. You are now in Dungworth. As you enter the village, The Royal Hotel is directly after a small row of cottages on the right. (Still the B6076).

Its location makes it the ideal place for people visiting the area or for those that want to stay longer but not wanting to stay in the hustle bustle of a city. Those of you wanting to come to the area on Business it is Affordable luxury with the added bonus of a real ale pub on the doorstep, what more do you want. The Royal Hotel was built around 1813 and retains much of its original character. Split into 3 areas, all with open fires. There is the snug which over looks the beautiful countryside and has view over Sheffield and on a good day you can see far and beyond. The lounge at the front of the pub which is spacious. The Family room also at the front of the pub is a separate room, ideal for families, especially smaller children as there is a child’s gate at the entrance, which can be closed to keep the little ones safe, toys and games are also provided. Come and relax in the comfortable surroundings, have a quality drink with friends and enjoy the quality home made food, which is cooked by David and Joanne. Try one of Dave’s Royal pies, known the world over. We do try and source our food as locally as possible. Meat, Honey and Jams all from around the Dungworth Area. The Accomodation is located at the rear of the property, in their own annex over looking the wonderful countryside. All ground floor. Each room is ensuite, Centrally heated and double glazed, Remote Control Television, Hairdryer and Tea/Coffee making facilities. Available on request, Trouser Press, Early morning call, Iron & Ironing board, Fresh Milk. The next morning, wake up to a Royal English Breakfast fit for a King or Queen. Each night before bed, select from a range of items for breakfast, then hand the form in at the bar. Orange juice Cereals Bacon, Sausage, Egg, Hash Browns, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Beans, Fried Bread and Bread and Butter Toast, Jam and Honey Tea and Coffee There are plenty of attractions locally, walking from novice to experienced hikers/ramblers for the more energetic, fishing from flay fishing at Ladybower Reservoir a 15 minute drive away and course fishing at Dam Flask on the doorstep. Also close by is clay pigeon shooting, golfing and horse riding (all by arrangement). If you are more into relaxing with a drink then come along and just enjoy the views. During the summer there is the local cricket team at Low Bradfield or visit the historic Bradfield Church at High Bradfield.
